The grammar checker reviews the current editor document and shows inline findings. It checks English, French, and other inferred languages according to the project’s writing language. It runs only while the Grammar checker panel is open from the editor right rail.

Run a check

Open a document

Select a text document in the editor.

Open Grammar checker

Select the document-validation icon labelled Grammar checker in the right rail. The first check starts automatically after the document has loaded.

Review findings

Select a highlighted phrase or a finding in the panel. Choose a replacement, dismiss the finding, or add an eligible spelling term to the Atlas.
The checker continues to update as you edit while the panel is open. Use the filter menu to show or hide spelling, grammar, punctuation, style, and miscellaneous findings, or to expand and collapse all finding cards.

Project-aware checking

Mana uses your Atlas names as context so invented names, places, items, lore terms, and Other entries are less likely to be flagged as spelling mistakes. If project context is not available, the grammar checker still runs as a normal proofread pass.

Limits

  • Checks the current document, not the whole project.
  • Does not check only a selected range.
  • Does not have a standalone custom dictionary. You can add eligible spelling terms to the Atlas instead.
  • Supports documents up to 200,000 characters, checked in smaller batches.

Credits

Grammar checks do not use an AI model or consume AI credits. Access still depends on whether the Grammar checker feature is included in your plan.
