The Discord extension lets an Atlas character respond in Discord through a bot you connect. The bot uses the character profile and available project context to answer in character.

Enable the extension

Open Plugins in your project, select Add to Discord, and install it. Manage connections from the plugin’s detail page. A character’s Discord tab also links back to that page once the plugin is installed.

Connect a character

1

Create or choose a Discord bot

Use Discord’s Developer Portal to create a bot for your server, or choose an existing bot you control.
2

Add a connection

In Mana, open Plugins → Add to Discord and select Add connection.
3

Choose a character

Select the Atlas character the bot should represent, paste the bot token, and connect it.
4

Configure behavior

Choose how the bot should respond in Discord.

How the bot responds

The bot can respond when:
  • Someone @mentions the bot
  • Someone mentions the character’s name
  • Active mode is continuing a recent conversation
  • Optional spontaneous participation is enabled
Conversation history is kept separately per Discord channel or thread, so simultaneous conversations do not blend together.

Reactions

When emoji reactions are enabled, the bot can occasionally react to human messages. It can also notice reactions on its own messages and use that as conversation context.

Limits

  • The Discord extension is available on Start, Pro, and Team plans.
  • Image attachments are ignored.
  • Bot replies use AI credits from the Mana project owner.
  • Spontaneous replies and reactions are intentionally limited so the bot does not dominate a channel.
