The Atlas is the place for project context that supports your writing.
It has five root sections:
Each section has its own tree. You can create folders, nest entries, rename items, move entries to Trash, and drag entries to reorder them within their section. Trashed entries can be restored from Configuration → Trash for 30 days.
You can show or hide individual sections from Configuration → Atlas or by right-clicking a visible Atlas section heading. Hiding a section does not delete its entries or remove them from search and AI context.
Characters
Characters have the richest profile model:
- Description sections
- Project-wide attribute keys with per-character values
- Avatar image
- Character chat
- Discord setup when the Discord extension is enabled
Places, Items, Lore, and Other
The other Atlas types use a simpler profile:
- Name
- Description sections
- Image
They do not have custom attributes or chat tabs.
Atlas profile descriptions save automatically after you stop typing. Names save when you press Enter or leave the name field, and images save after they finish uploading.
Atlas and AI
Mana’s AI features can use Atlas context so project-specific names and concepts are treated as intentional.
For example, the grammar checker uses Atlas names as terms that should not be flagged as spelling mistakes, and character chat can use Atlas context when answering in character.
Atlas entries do not automatically create links inside your manuscript.
