Mana is currently in private access for beta testers only. Terms are still subject to change before they become effectively in use.
1. Description of Service
Mana is a web and desktop application for writing, organizing, and managing written works.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. By using Mana, you represent that you meet this age requirement and will comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
3. Account registration and security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.
We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from unauthorized use of your account, including where credentials are compromised through no fault of our own. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
- Upload or share content that infringes third-party intellectual property or other rights
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, data, or systems
- Use automated tools, scripts, or bots to access or scrape the Service without our permission
- Interfere with or disrupt the proper functioning of the Service or other users’ use of it
5. Your content and intellectual property
You retain all rights, title, and ownership in any content you create or upload to Mana (“Your Content”), including text you write and outputs you choose to generate using features of the Service. We do not claim ownership over Your Content. Our only interest is in providing you with a great writing experience.
By using the Service, you grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, transmit, display, and back up Your Content solely as necessary to operate the Service. This includes storing your documents, creating backups, using certain features, and supporting collaboration capabilities.
We will never sell your writing. Your content will never be used to train AI models. We only access or process it when necessary to provide the features you use.
6. Feedback and suggestions
Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide about Mana may be used by us without compensation or attribution to improve the Service.
7. Subscriptions, billing, and payments
Plans and fees
Mana offers various paid subscription plans. By subscribing to a plan, you agree to pay the applicable fees in accordance with the pricing and terms presented to you at the time of purchase.
We may offer monthly and annual billing options, as well as a one-time 21-day free trial for new users, at our sole discretion.
Automatic renewal
Unless you cancel before the end of the current billing period, paid subscriptions renew automatically for the same duration. You will be charged the then-current fee for your plan unless we have notified you of a price change in advance (see below).
Payment
Payments are processed through a third-party payment processor. You are responsible for providing accurate, current billing information and for paying all applicable taxes. Failure to maintain valid payment details may result in suspension or loss of access to paid features.
Refunds
Except where required by applicable law, fees are generally non-refundable. If you believe a billing error occurred or you have a concern about charges, contact us at support@mana.re; we will review requests in good faith where the law or our policies allow.
Price changes
We may change subscription prices or introduce new fees for optional features. Where required by law, we will notify you in advance (for example, at least 30 days before the change takes effect). Your continued use of paid features after the effective date may constitute acceptance of the new pricing, subject to applicable consumer rules.
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings (or the flow we provide). After cancellation, you typically retain access to paid features until the end of the current billing period. Unless the law requires otherwise, we do not refund fees for the unused portion of a billing period.
AI features and usage quotas
Certain AI-powered features rely on paid third-party AI and infrastructure. We set usage limits by plan so those costs stay predictable for us and for subscribers. Your allowance, how much each kind of action counts toward that allowance, and the period the limit applies over (for example a calendar week or a month) are shown in the Service and in our pricing information. Those details may differ by plan and may change over time.
Because provider pricing and the work required per action can vary, we may adjust how usage is counted or how limits are structured so they continue to reflect our costs. Where changes materially affect you, we will aim to give reasonable notice, for example through the Service or by email.
8. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.
9. Third-party services and links
The Service relies on and may link to third-party services (for example authentication, hosting, analytics, and payment processing). Those providers operate under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control third-party sites or services and are not responsible for their content, practices, or availability.
10. Service provided “as is”
The Service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that all features will be available at all times.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you have paid us (if any) in the twelve months preceding the claim.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.
13. Termination
Your choice. You may stop using the Service at any time. Export or copy Your Content while you still have access; we encourage you to keep your own backups.
Our action. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if we must do so to comply with law, or if we discontinue the Service (where we will aim to give reasonable notice when practicable).
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases. You may have a limited period to export content before it may be permanently deleted, as described in the Service or in communications we send you.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of France. Any legal disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of France, subject to any mandatory rights you may have under the laws of your country of residence.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated Terms will be posted on this page, and the “Last updated” date in the page description will be revised.
If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice through the Service, by email, or by other means. Your continued use of Mana after the new Terms become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, such provision will be struck and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
17. No waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not constitute a waiver of future enforcement of that right or provision.
