Play Narration is a Mana Extension that turns text into audio using ElevenLabs text-to-speech. It can narrate a Content or Scratch document from the project, or text you paste into the generation dialog.

Enable Play Narration

Open Plugins in your project, select Play Narration, and install it.

Generate narration

Open Play Narration

Open Plugins, then select Play Narration.

Choose a source

Choose a Content or Scratch document, or paste custom text to narrate.

Name the clip

Give the narration a title so it is easy to find later.

Review the estimate

Mana shows an estimated credit cost before generating audio.

Generate and play

Generate the audio, then use the player to play, pause, scrub, or open the transcript.

Narration library

Generated narrations are saved in the extension page. You can play, rename, delete, retry failed generation, and view the transcript for saved clips. The floating player can stay open while you move around the editor.

Credits and caching

Narration uses AI credits. If the same text has already been generated with the same narration settings, Mana can reuse the cached audio without charging credits again.
Long text is truncated to the current narration model limit. Mana narrates the beginning of the text and does not create multi-part playlists yet.

Privacy note

Text sent to Play Narration is processed by ElevenLabs to generate the requested audio.
