Character chat lets you talk with a character from your Atlas. The character responds in character using its profile and any available project context.

Start a chat

Open the Atlas

Go to Atlas in your project.

Select a character

Choose a character from the Characters tree.

Open Chat

Use the character’s Chat tab.

Send a message

Type your question or prompt. The response streams into the chat.

What the character can know

Character chat can use:
  • The character’s name
  • The character description
  • Character attributes
  • Relevant story context when available
  • Other Atlas entities when they are part of the character’s context
If project context is not available yet, chat still works from the character profile.

Reset a conversation

Use the chat settings menu to restart the chat thread for that character.

Current limits

  • Each user has one chat thread per character.
  • Export, regenerate, save to scratch, insert into editor, and delete-message actions are not available yet.
  • Character chat uses AI credits.
