# Lore

> Document rules, history, and background knowledge.

Lore entries capture project knowledge that is not best represented as a character, place, item, or other entity.

Use Lore for rules, history, timelines, systems, factions, terminology, tone guides, research notes, and background facts.

## Create a lore entry

    Go to **Atlas** in your project.

    Use the Lore section in the Atlas tree.

  <Step title="Create the entry">
    Add a lore entry, then write its description and upload an image if useful.

## What lore supports

Lore entries support:

* Name
* Description sections
* Image
* Folders and drag-and-drop organization in the Lore tree

Lore entries do not have custom attributes or chat.
