# Images

> Add images to editor documents and Atlas entries.

Images in editor documents are experimental and disabled by default for new projects.

Atlas images are separate from editor images. Characters, Places, Items, Lore, and Other entries can each have an image.

## Enable editor images

Open **Configuration** for the project and enable Images.

Once enabled, you can insert images from the toolbar, the slash command menu, drag and drop, or paste.

## Supported editor image files

* JPEG
* PNG
* GIF
* WebP

The upload limit is 5 MB.

## Work with an editor image

After inserting an image, select it to open the image controls. You can:

* Resize it
* Align it left, center, or right
* Toggle a caption
* Download the image
* Delete the image node

## Atlas images

Atlas images are uploaded from each Atlas entry header. Use them for character portraits, place references, item images, lore visuals, or Other references.

  Editor images are included in exports when Mana can reach the stored image file during export. If an image cannot be included, Mana shows an export warning.
