# Typewriter Sound

> Play key sounds while you write.

Typewriter Sound is a Mana Extension that plays keyboard sounds while you write in the editor.

The plugin is installed per project, while your sound and volume preferences are stored locally in this browser and apply wherever you have the plugin installed. It does not use AI credits.

## Enable Typewriter Sound

Open **Plugins** in your project, select **Typewriter Sound**, and install it.

Once enabled, open the extension page to manage sound settings.

## Settings

Typewriter Sound includes:

* An on/off switch for key sounds
* A volume control
* A preview field for testing the sound

The extension plays different sounds for character keys, Enter, and Backspace.

## Limits

Typewriter Sound does not play for keyboard shortcuts that use modifier keys such as `Cmd`, `Ctrl`, or `Alt`.
